Stylight is Europe's leading search engine for fashion and design. The company enables its 10 million users to search more than 1,200 online shops with one "click", compare the prices of more than 30 million products and find the best offers. Stylight has been a wholly owned subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 since July 2016 and has been part of the NuCom Group portfolio since January 2018. Stylight is internationally active in 16 countries, with headquarters in Munich, Germany and an international office in Philadelphia (U.S.).
For us, Stylight is more than just a brand, it’s a name that’s close to our hearts. Everyone at Stylight is fully committed and delivers exceptional team spirit. Together we’re shaping a unique team as well as an inspirational working atmosphere and we want you to be part of it!
We are looking for an experienced Java or Scala developer who wants to make a difference. We’re a fashion company but you don’t have to wear the latest Karl Lagerfeld. A hoodie or your favorite Docker shirt will do just fine. You don’t speak German? No big deal, we use English as our main language.
Help us building and monitoring our highly scalable architecture to support Stylight’s growth. We take pride in building a highly performant and failure resistant platform with a small team.
Foster technical excellence in the team. Bring your best practices, challenge the status quo and set things in motion.
Enjoy what you do, and be willing to teach and learn new technologies.
Our Tech Stack
Our main API is written in Scala using the Finatra framework, some of our services are written in Python.
We run our systems on Amazon Web Services (EC2, DynamoDB, Lambda…) and the Google Cloud (BigQuery).
We use Docker and CircleCI to deploy Kubernetes and connect to Elastic and relational databases.
You are proficient in Scala or Java. You have tried different frameworks and also other programming languages.
You have a “You build it, you run it”-mentality. AWS, Docker and other DevOps technologies is a plus.
You can recompile your Linux kernel blindfolded. J/k. But it still would be nice if you can grep logs and script your way out of repetitiveness (be it in Python or else).
If you have experience in processing large amounts of user data, that’s a plus.
You don’t test in production like Chuck Norris. You have experience in Agile environments.
You have an appreciation for working in a diverse and interdisciplinary environment.
The Product Service Team consists of data scientists and backend engineers to find and show the most relevant products to our users with low latency.
We do work in 2 weeks sprints, visualize our tasks on analog boards, and do pair-programming to foster knowledge sharing.
We <3 Slack. We have our own bot and have integrated our toolchain (CircleCI, Datadog, PagerDuty…).
We are not afraid to build new things. Products Service consistently gets recognitions at internal hackathons.
